Paul wrote his letter to the church at Colosse while in prison in Rome around the year of 60 A.D.

This church lacked trained leaders and was being lead into false doctrines. Paul's epistle to the Colossians is of correction and training that teaches the basic doctrine of Christianity. Paul establishes that Christ is God and is the authority and the Head of the Church. (Body of Christ)
