Galatians was written by Paul around 49 A.D. to the churches in Galatia that he founded. Paul's purpose was to correct doctrinal errors that had infiltrated the Galatians. This doctrinal conflict was introduced by Judaizers (Jewish Christians) that mixed the Kingdom doctrine written to Israel with the Age of Grace doctrine. Judaizers of that day as many religious churches today, still combined the Gospels and teach incorrectly is that Christians must observe the traditions and laws of Moses for salvation.
